Deschutes Public Library Survey

Deschutes Public Library (DPL) strives to promote a safe and healthy place for the public to visit. In doing so, the DPL is considering adopting a 100% tobacco-free policy. This would mean that all tobacco use, including cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, chew, snus, snuff, electronic cigarettes, vape pens, and inhalant delivery devices, would be prohibited on any Deschutes Public Library owned properties.

Research shows that implementing a tobacco-free policy helps reduce the risk of visitors exposed to the harmful chemicals found in secondhand smoke and it helps support those who wish to quit using tobacco.
