Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps Application
Rebuilding Together is a housing nonprofit with affiliates in the San Francisco bay area, and across the country. Together, we transform the lives of low-income homeowners by improving the safety and health of their homes and revitalizing our communities. Rebuilding Together's local affiliates and nearly 100,000 volunteers complete about 10,000 rebuild projects nationwide each year. Visit our website to learn more.

We are seeking individuals who want to get involved and ensure a safe and healthy home for every person in their community. During a 11 month AmeriCorps term, you'd earn a living stipend of $12,630 and an Education Award of $5,815 upon completion of the term. Since Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley is located in a high cost of living area, they are offering an additional $300 per month, in addition to the base living stipend, to assist with living expenses. The term starts on August 5, 2017, and ends June 29, 2018.  Capacity building AmeriCorps members with Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley (also called CapacityCorps) will serve crucial roles; visit our website to see full position description(s).  We're a great team, doing great work in the community! Join us to make a difference, gain valuable career skills, and earn money for your education!

About Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley
Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley serves San Jose and surrounding communities in Santa Clara County. The home repair needs are widespread throughout the county, with our focus on meeting the needs of low-income seniors and/or disabled (90%) who've raised a family in their home of many years and want to remain independent in their home as long as their health will allow. Their limited income now only provides barely enough for food and medication, so they just haven't had the resources to keep up their home. Our average homeowner is a 70 year old widow who has lived in her home for 26 years; her average income is $1766 per month, just over 20% of median income. 42% of our homeowners live in mobile homes, the only 'affordable' housing option in our area.  Our AmeriCorps member is critical in helping get the word out into the community and helping manage the meeting of these unmet needs.

Originally, San Jose served as California's state capitol. Now the 3rd largest city in the state, and the 10th largest city in the nation. Over 300 days of sunshine a year and average temperature is 73 degrees. Only 45 minutes from San Francisco and the beach, and only hours from Mountains and skiing at Lake Tahoe! Home to Apple, Adobe, eBay, 49ers football and more!

Thanks again for your interest in serving with Rebuilding Together AmeriCorps and making a difference in the homes and lives of people in your community.  If you have any questions about the program or technical difficulties with the application, please email me at
