What KPIs are maintenance/reliability teams using to benchmark performance?

This survey is designed to identify the metrics / KPIs that plant teams are currently using to benchmark the overall effectiveness of maintenance operations, and to understand how close respondents are to industry standards. The survey is comprised of seven questions, and should take about 5 minutes to complete.
1. Percentage of Planned Work vs Actual. This measure is the percentage of all jobs that have been planned. It assumes that all parts, procedures, specifications, tools, drawings, and resources have been identified before the job is scheduled and executed. This process gives you a good indication of how your Wrench Time is distributed.

What is your current allocation?
  *This question is required.
2. Reactive versus Proactive. The effectiveness of the preventive maintenance program is determined by the level of unplanned equipment maintenance that is performed. Unplanned equipment maintenance is defined as any maintenance activity that is performed with less than one week of advanced planning. Unplanned equipment maintenance is commonly referred to as reactive maintenance.

What is your current breakdown of reactive vs. proactive maintenance? Please select one option in each category.
  *This question is required.

3. Backlog. This measure shows how much work was planned and ready to be performed, however, due to resource constraints or equipment availability, the Work Order remains open. This measure is important to how your maintenance team is utilized, highlighting constraints or emerging work taking you away from your PM program.

What is your current work backlog?
  *This question is required.
4. Schedule Adherence. This measure is the percentage of jobs or tasks scheduled (which were on an approved schedule) divided by the total maintenance Work Orders executed, the difference between the two are considered a break in schedule.

What is your schedule adherence percentage?
  *This question is required.
5. Percentage of work generated from a formal work PM/CBM. Most work should come from identifying the degradation of a component or asset far enough in advance of any Preventive Maintenance (PM)/Condition-based Maintenance (CBM) tasks that the job can be planned and scheduled properly, thus minimizing unexpected delays and production loss. The PM and CBM should be able to identify 1/2 – 2 hours of corrective maintenance work to every one hour of PM and CBM performed; otherwise, the frequency or condition parameters should be reviewed or adjusted.

What is your percentage of maintenance labor dedicated to performing PM and CBM inspections, respectively? Please select one option in each category.

  *This question is required.

7. Service Level ( % Stock Outs). This measure is based on the number of times a maintenance person visits the storeroom to get the parts needed versus when parts are supposed to be in the storeroom, but are not available in stock.

What is your service level ratio?
  *This question is required.
