About Rebuilding Together North Central Florida
Rebuilding Together North Central Florida (RTNCF) serves seniors, veterans, and low-income homeowners in Alachua County. We are one of several providers of critical repair services in our area, but are unique in our approach utilizing a 25-point health and safety checklist, and are unique in offering specific services (serving mobile homes, etc.). RTNCF addresses a broad range of health and safety issues, including roofing, plumbing, septic, electrical, fire safety, accessibility, aging-in-place, and energy efficiency repairs. RTNCF is extremely dedicated to the long-term educational opportunities we provide, and our staff and volunteers work one-on-one with clients to teach and provide experience in home-maintenance and repair, energy and water efficiency, and even budgeting and the cost of upkeep and future repair. The need in Alachua County is great. Last year, RTNCF served
less than 25% of the families who applied due to funding and staff capacity.

Alachua County is home to many wonderful natural and recreational opportunities, including spring fed rivers, hiking and wildlife viewing. Our area also offers the feel of a small town in a reasonably sized city. Gainesville is home to the University of Florida, a beautiful (and walkable) downtown area, many local restaurants, bars, shopping, parks and museums. Gainesville is a reasonably affordable city, although it is useful (especially since RTNCF serves the entirety of the county) to have a vehicle. RTNCF staff and board members are happy to share their personal regional favorites upon request.

Thanks again for your interest in serving with Rebuilding Together AmeriCorps and making a difference in the homes and lives of people in your community.  If you have any questions about the program or technical difficulties with the application, please email me at jpermar@rebuildingtogether.org.

Have a great week,

Jessie
